Evening on Hunt's Mesa

Evening on Hunt’s Mesa

Experience a breathtaking 7-hour adventure through Monument Valley’s rugged beauty. Your journey begins and ends at the Navajo Welcome Center, located at the southeast corner of Highway 163 and Monument Valley Road.

Travel across desert trails of soft sand dunes, creek beds, rocky terrain, and steep inclines as your guide expertly navigates toward Hunt’s Mesa. After approximately two hours, you’ll arrive at our scenic campsite near the B-52 crash site of 1984, where sweeping panoramic views of Monument Valley await.

As the late afternoon light transforms into golden hour and sunset, capture stunning photographs of iconic formations such as Totem Pole, Sun’s Eye, Rain God Mesa, The Mittens, Merrick Butte, Stagecoach, and Brigham’s Tomb—all seen from the magnificent rim of Hunt’s Mesa.

The return trip after sunset takes about two hours.

Note: This tour travels over rugged terrain and is not recommended for individuals with neck or back problems.
